One of the first initiatives, after assuming the DEI role, was a DEI Awareness Campaign. The objective was to ensure that our employees understood the “what” and the “why” for Oxy’s Diversity Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Program.

The need for human connection, specifically in our live event industry during and post pandemic, demonstrated the need to consider individual employee needs and a platform to be heard. ASM Global Acts, our CSR, grew out of the need to empower and listen to employees across the company.

Prior to joining Bank of America, I have a 22-year career at Microsoft and experienced the transition of all our CEOs. The culture of the company has varied over time and right now, the company culture is aligned with my beliefs and philosophy that everything starts with people. I was raised to remember that you treat people with respect and kindness.

One of my biggest goals – in my professional role and in my life – is to personify servant leadership. Taking a people-first approach can be tremendously helpful when building and supporting a team of diverse individuals. When faced with a challenge, I try to ask, “How does this affect my team?” rather than, “How does this affect me?”
